“If you are a gamer, you should get a PC”. Mac users have heard this line all too often. Its true that Macs have not been known for their large selection of gaming titles. Besides for a few large titles such as the World of Warcraft and The Sims gaming on the Mac was almost unheard of. This, however, might no longer be the case.
On May 12th 2010, Valve has released Steam, its popular online gaming platform for Intel Macs. Steam enables users to purchase, download & install software from the Steam online store and run it on any computer in a few simple step.
The Steam software has many other features such has easy access to the Steam Community, the ability to chat with your friends while gaming and automatic game updates to name a few.
As of May 16th, there was 61 games available for Macs including a game called Portal that will be available for free until May 24th.
